Avoid potential package thefts this holiday season with these simple tips

A recent study conducted by CCTV Camera World finds porch piracy will also surge this holiday season as a record £207 billion in online holiday shopping is expected to increase deliveries. Although that same study puts Connecticut at No.
6 least at-risk and although Lt. David Wolfe says police reports of package thefts have been on the lower end, it is still a good time to stay vigilant.
“Unfortunately, experience tells us that as we move into this time of year, it is a more common type of crime that we’re dealing with,” said Wolf. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
– Enable tracking and text alerts for your packages
– Install home security cameras to serve as a deterrent
– Have a porch lockbox
– Ask for non-descriptive packaging
– Control your shipping location, such as choosing to pick up in store instead of drop off at your house. Also review and keep any footage from security surveillance that may be useful in identifying the thieves.
